Information Specialist – Mergers & Acquisitions, New York
Are you a dynamic law librarian who thrives on the challenge of fielding business and legal research requests in a fast-paced environment? Our client, a preeminent international law firm with 14 closely integrated offices located in major financial centers around the world, is looking for a skilled Information Specialist – Mergers & Acquisitions to provide time-sensitive research for firm’s Corporate and Merger & Acquisitions groups. This position is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and service-oriented professional with outstanding knowledge of both legal and business databases. Position located in New York.
Responsibilities:
· Provide legal and business research for requests that are often confidential and time sensitive in nature to the Corporate and Merger & Acquisition groups of a leading international law firm
· Assist with maintaining corporate files (data inputting, indexing and filing) and other requirements as assigned
· Monitor current publications both online and in print and appraise attorneys of developments in the field on a daily basis
· Extensive use of internal databases, online resources and the internet
· Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and equally well as part of a team
· Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research Services
Requirements:
· Master's Degree in Library/Information Science and related law firm or corporate experience preferred
· Technical Skills: experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access
· Legal and Financial Database skills: experience in using Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Knowledge Mosaic, Morningstar, as well as other Securities & Exchange Commission and EDGAR filing resources
· Minimal overtime may be required
