Job Title: Librarian
Job Description:
This position provides experience in many facets of academic librarianship. The librarian will be responsible for the following:
- Managing the library in the absence of the director
- Providing reference and bibliographic instruction to students
- Teaching information literacy workshops and seminars to faculty and students
- Doing basic cataloging and copy cataloging in LOC classification system
- Processing serials and interlibrary loan materials
- Schedule work study students and other paraprofessional staff
- Oversee work study students and paraprofessional staff
- Provide input in collection development including monographs and electronic resources
- Provide coverage at multiple libraries when needed. Some evening coverage may be required.
Requirements:
- All candidates must possess a Masters of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution
- Ability to travel between multiple campuses as necessary
- One year library experience
Preferred:
- Experience working in an academic environment
- Teaching or instructional experience
- Knowledge of major electronic databases such as Proquest, CQ Researcher, Ebsco databases, Lexis Nexis, etc
